Hazlet, New Jersey, is located in Monmouth County, along the coast of New Jersey’s Raritan Bay. Hazlet began as an unincorporated community and was once part of Aberdeen Township, which was later divided into six separate municipalities in 1871. The name Hazlet comes from a combination of the names Haskell and Shoemaker, the two individuals who laid out the community with street names referencing their families and associates.
