How To Use Connect A Bluetooth Device To Honda

It's absolutely astounding, all the high-tech options you can purchase when you buy a car today! While many of them revolve around safety, possibly just as many revolve around convenience and/or comfort. One of the options more and more car owners seek out when purchasing a new vehicle is that of Bluetooth connectivity.

Here, we will go over the steps you’ll take to connect a Bluetooth device to your Honda vehicle. If you don't feel confident with your vehicle’s multimedia system, feel free to talk to a representative of Honda of Staten Island. Maybe we can help you better understand the system.

Bluetooth Connectivity and Today's Vehicles

To your Honda multimedia system, your mobile device can connect wirelessly. In this manner, you'll be able to perform turn by turn navigation, music streaming, and hands-free calls. To connect your Bluetooth equipped Honda multimedia system to your mobile device, you’ll need to go through a number of steps.

Steps for Connecting Honda Vehicle Bluetooth To Your Device

  • On your mobile device, make sure that "Bluetooth" is activated.
  • Press the "home" button at the top left of your Honda multimedia screen.
  • "Phone" should be pressed, then to confirm, press "yes". Prompts will then be received asking you if you want to add a device. "Yes" should be pressed. From the multimedia screen, select your mobile device.
  • Select "Hands-Free Link" on your mobile device from the Bluetooth menu. Pairing will now begin between the two.

Courtesy of the Hands-Free Link and Bluetooth, your Honda multimedia system and mobile device should soon be linked.

Updating Your System

Just as with most high-tech devices, updates are something you may need to do on occasion. The infotainment system in your Honda can be updated easily and from the convenience of your garage or driveway.

  • Select "system updates" from the home screen on your infotainment system.
  • "Settings" should be pressed next.
  • "Connection set up" can be selected next.
  • "Wi-Fi" should be chosen next.
  • Press "change mode”.
  • "Network" should then be selected.
  • Your home’s Wi-Fi network should be logged into. Then "connect" should be selected.

If, for your vehicle, there is an available software update, across the bottom of your screen, you should get a notification. You'll be taken to another screen when you touch the message. There, choose "software update is ready." You can immediately install the update or, after you've exited the vehicle and it’s not running, the update can be installed.

Navigation

Your Honda multimedia system likely has navigation. This system has functions similar to those found on your smart phone’s navigation system map including zooming, swiping, pinching, etc. On some Honda models, if navigation isn't included, to the vehicle’s touch display, it can be added. It's a handy item to have if you don't want to juggle your phone in your hand when you're not sure where you're going.
